Tuesday Tip - Combating a Broken Supply Chain

Welcome to Tuesday Tips - a weekly blog post for busy writers!

Today we’re talking about one of the current challenges for authors who have taken the steps to publish hard copies of their work. Just when it’s time to gear up for holiday sales by ordering copies, there arises yet another hiccup in the supply chain.

What will the author do to combat this challenge?

If she hasn’t already made her work available in digital form, it may be time to do just that. Below are a few ways this can be done to quickly get your work into the hands of readers.

Ebooks - I make my books available on Kindle because that is my digital platform of choice. There are a few steps to be taken to convert your manuscript to an Ebook format, but it can be done! I’m not promoting one Ebook biz over another - just do it. Unlike hard copies direct from author to reader, Ebooks don’t require any financial investment from the author. Unless …

Ebooks are easily gifted via email, so IF you want to send one as a gift it can be done quickly with little cost to the author. Want to know more? Email me HERE.

Digital Downloads - "Wait? Can I sell my manuscript directly?" Yes, you can, but I would recommend it for short works such as short stories, How To guides, and very short books. Create your manuscript complete with your copyright (!), and save it as a .pdf. Then it can be attached to an email or sent as a link through social media, text, or email. If you need help, contact me HERE.

Blogging and Social Media - If you aren’t ready to publish, but want to share your writing to see how readers respond, share it as a blog post or use social media. Don’t share everything! You’ll want to save some of it for paying customers.
